I went to Serpong, Bina Bhakti Elderly Home on October 24, 2014. I visited a lot of grandparents. One of them was grandma Priscilla who is already 95 years old. She loves to sing, play, and eat cakes. Another one was grandma Penny who is loving, caring, strong, and funny.
In the elderly home, I played many fascinating games with the elderly people. One of the games was playing charades. I had to act and the elderly people had to guess what it was. We sang, Yes, Jesus Loves Me; Bapak Abraham; and Dipiki-pikir. The purpose of doing those activities was making the elderly people happy.
I felt really happy while talking and praying with them. I heard lots of laughter from the elderly people. I saw lots of smiling faces.
I hope I can come there again to be a blessing. I think the teachers brought me there to be a blessing. There is a verse in the Bible that relates to the field trip experience. It says in Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
I was thankful that I was given a chance to do good thing to the elders and I was happy to be a blessing.
