On 3 and 4 December 2014, IICS Elementary had our Parents Christmas Service. We had our students ready for their performance in the musical drama for this Christmas. They were so excited to present their best in singing, movement, and drama play as our theme for this year is Best Christmas Present Ever.
The students had been practicing really hard since a month before, especially for the drama players. Our teachers also had given their extra effort to train the students, prepare the props and many other things that support this wonderful event.
We really prayed this service would be a blessing and reminder for IICS parents and students, that Christmas is about Jesus Christ Himself as the best present from God. After all, what is Christmas without Christ?
Our IICS Parents were so excited to see their children’s performance. Some of them came earlier and waited to enter IICS chapel where the service was held. The students were getting ready to perform, some of them were in the make up room and the others changed costumes for the drama.
In the beginning of the service, our little ballerinas were performing their wonderful movement. Afterward, we started to sing praise and worship songs before the sermon began. The Christmas message was delivered by our chaplain, Jonathan Mays. Then, the performance started by RSVP song sang by grade 3.1 and 3.2, followed by the drama.
In the end, the candle light ceremony wrapped up our Christmas celebration that night. Hopefully, all the parents and students who attended the service would experience the real meaning of Christmas, which is a close relationship with Christ, Jesus our Lord.
