In the beginning of the school year, IICS Elementary students had two days of SEED (Spiritual Emphasis and Enrichment Days) program. Our yearly theme is Guard Your Mind. The objectives of the program are the students are able to explain the importance of having positive thoughts and to set time for daily Bible reading in order to make every thought captive.
The students started their day in the chapel listening to the message of God by Ev. Aysha. We were so blessed being reminded that what we put into our minds determined the outputs (our actions, words, etc). Then our actions would determine our habits and lastly, our habits would determine our character. Therefore, we must spend time with the Word of God in order to make every thought captive. In the end, by God‚ grace we are going to be Christians who please God.
In the classroom, the teachers reviewed the material of SEED by asking them questions and discussing how they could apply the message that they heard in the chapel in their daily lives. Afterward, the students had art and craft activity. Hopefully, this would remind them to guard their minds.
We still have a long journey ahead of us, yet we believe that God who began the good work in us will bring it to completion until the end of this academic year. As time goes by, we pray that our students will guard their minds, thinking whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable. May God, name be lifted up when the world sees the work of His children!
