IJO 2012 IPEKA Integrated Junior Olympics

Many nations of the world have participated in the London Olympics on last July 27 to August 12, 2012. And as for our nation itself, Indonesia has also held a national sport event the Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) or Indonesian language for National Games on last September 9 – 20, 2012.

In the meantime, IPEKA Integrated Christian School held a sport competition, IJO (IPEKA Integrated Junior Olympics) 2012.

The event was held on October 8 – 13, 2012 where some teams as well as individual players from IICS and other schools in Jakarta participated. IJO was organized for Junior High students to compete in some sport competitions, ranging from basket ball, volley ball, tennis, soccer, until band competition.

This one-week event lasted on Saturday, October 13 and the schools which came out as winners were as follows: IPEKA Integrated Christian School Junior High, IPEKA Tomang Junior High, IPEKA Pluit, IPEKA Puri, Dian Harapan Junior High, Penabur 7, Bina Bangsa School, Gandhi Memorial International School, Springfield, Candra Naya, Santo Andreas, National High, and Pangudi Luhur.

Last but not least, it is good to be healthy, especially if we have the opportunity to use our God-given talents to make achievements. With that in mind, IICS aims to support its students to be healthy while maximizing their talents and pursuing their dreams.

“It’s pleasant to be in the lead
It’s unpleasant to be behind
But life is not always about winning
Even though losing is never in mind
With God on your side, don’t forget to ask
Wisdom, might ‘cause we know He’s kind
So whatever you do, do it well
Give your all, a new strength you’ll find.
