It is more blessed to give than to receive, and it is better to serve than to be served. That is why the spirit of giving and serving were felt in the atmosphere during the IPEKA Integrated Christian School Junior High Christmas celebration.
It was held in the school grand chapel on Friday, December 7, 2012. The theme for the celebration was “What’s So Special about Christmas?†which asked the students to care more about the needy, especially children with special needs. That is why IPEKA INTERNATIONAL Junior High students donated some daily goods for the children at Yayasan Pendidikan Dwituna Rawinala, a non-profit foundation that takes care of little children with multiple disabilities.
To enliven the celebration, some teachers gave a drama performance, and some students played angklung for a praise and worship, and read verses in some languages such as Tagalog, Mandarin, Bataknese, etc. And as for the sermon, the message was delivered by Mr. Rick Seir.
In the meantime, a song from the Rawinala Foundation children, Open the Eyes of My Heart indeed touched the hearts of the students and the congregation that some tears could be seen, melted from their eyes.
