The tenth of November was the day that IPEKA Integrated Christian school officially graduated the Class of 2017. This is the seventeenth batch of students that have been graduated from IICS since the start of the school in 1999. All 70 Year Twelve students have worked hard to finish the last hurdle of the Higher School Certificate course from the New South Wales Board of Studies, Australia; i.e. The External Examination. Having completed the final challenge, the students are relieved and ready to prepare for their next steps in life. The graduation ceremony became the perfect occasion to end their high school journey, helping them to focus on what is important, remember the events of the past two-and-a-half years, and rekindle their thankfulness for every part of their journey, and everyone who helped them on their way (God, parents, the school, the teachers, each other). It also acted as an acknowledgement of all their effort and perseverance. The inspirational message by Mr. Joshua Frear, following the graduation theme of “Continue to Grow Spiritually”, used 1 John 4:7-11 to inspire the students to take the values of love, trustworthiness, and curiosity into the world as they embark on new journeys at universities around the world. This graduation was made unique by the students’ request to sing the song “Just Wanna Be With You” from High School Musical 3 as a gift to their parents. All in all, it was a beautiful and memorable event.
