The high school team conducted a seminar aimed at anyone with children under their care, or particularly those who need help in raising their teenagers. For parents whose children are young, or are still a long way from being a high schooler, they can learn to equip their children, as well as themselves in facing the upcoming challenges. This seminar was held twice, on February 23 and March 3. The participants came from various circles of IICS parents, as well as some from other schools.
Mr Kristhianto Kainama, the Senior High Principal shared about Johari Window, a tool that can be used to map the things parents know about their child. He also shared the types of dilemma teenagers are struggling at home and school and some research based data.
Ms Mariana Paulus, the new University Counsellor shared about the types of teenager’s personalities versus parent’s personalities and how to cope with the child’s situation depending on the parent’s personality.
Parents got a lot of takeaways within the short two-hour-session. The Senior High team hopes to be able to educate and help parents better equipped as their partner of education.
