After winning an award in Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) 2016 Indonesia, some of IICS students had a chance in participating in World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) 2017 Final Round. This was an exciting international mathematics competition. The quality of the candidates for the competition was outstanding and it was a very tight competition.
The competition was held on Friday-Tuesday/14-18 July 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Not only the students but also the parents were excited to join the competition. While the students practiced during their summer break to get ready for the competition, parents were also being supportive to encourage and accompany them during the competition.
All their hard work paid off as they achieved success in this final round. Special congratulations to Nathan Keith Poernama, Nathan Tedjakusuma and Tobias Tito Surjorahardjo for winning silver medals and Elizabeth Patricia Elaine for winning a bronze medal in WMI 2017.
They gained knowledge and also great experience to take part in an international competition. We are very grateful for the achievement. To God be the glory!
